Paul Whitrod receives 6th level gold sash in October 2007 and is representative for Ajarn Pramote Buddhai Sawan Krabi Krabong in UK

Paul Whitrod received his Gold sash 6th level from Ajarn Pramote Mesamana and UK representative in Thailand, Bangkok on October 18th. It is hoped that Krabi Krabong Buddhai Sawan will be more openly taught in UK and Ajarn Pramote, who is the eldest son of Grandmaster Por Samai Mesmana promoted Paul Whitrod to represent him in the UK to spread this Ancient Thai Martial Art.

Krabi Krabong sword and shield

There are two basic shields in Krabi Krabong the long rectangle and the round. The round is known as Lor (daap lor) meaning sword and shield. The round shield although protects you more being a larger area, has its limitations as a striking implement, because only a back hand strike or a pushing motion can be done with it at most. The rectangle shield with its Buddhist symbols (as in the pictures) on it, can be used as a striking tool much more widely, because you only hold it with the hand. Where as the round shield is held with hand and forearm in a secondary strap to support.

Buddhai Sawan closes and moves location.

The famous Buddhai Sawan that has been a centre of excellence for the art of Krabi Krabong has now closed and moved to Lad Prao. For many years the late Grandmaster Por Samai Mesamana taught Krabi Krabong in Bangkok. But after his death some internal matter with late Grandmaster Samai Mesaman 2nd wife and family. The school sadly had to close. Ajarn Pramote Mesamana after some consideration and agreement with his fathers 2nd wife split the proceeds of the Buddhai Sawan site and Ajaran Promote decided to move all the artefacts to the millionaire Buddhist temple, where all the deities are stored and can be seen. But Buddhai Sawan Krabi Krabong is being carried on at Lad Prao under Ajarn Pramote. The New address is 23 Charter House Building 5th Soi Lad Prao 124 Lad Prao Road Wangthonglang bangkapi Bangkok.10310

Ajarn Pramote On UK TV

BBC 3 are currently showing a series called "Kick Ass Miracles". Ajarn Pramote is featured teaching and showing some techniques at his school to presenter Chris Crudell. Hopefully the interest in this ancient thai martial art will help it to grow and develop further afield.

Ayuttya

The Buddhai Sawan of Thailand organised a visit to the Ancient city of Thailand. The Once city of Thailand boasted a training hall dedicated to the art of weapons training etc, known as Krabi Krabong. The temple can still be seen as well as the training grounds. Including the famous well that many went into to escape with their lives to reach the river
